The project of Stathis MargaritisThe research field of the ESR8 position deals with the effects of vegetation in noise reduction in high-density urban areas. From a planning viewpoint a relation between vegetation, built areas and sound quality is investigated taking into consideration various noise mapping indicators. Through the application of GIS modeling techniques which integrate vegetation in a series of typical urban configurations, guidelines will be developed on the effectiveness of vegetation in noise reduction. |
