Laura Estévez MaurizI was born in Mexico and lived there for 21 years, but my life has always been linked to Spain. I moved to this country were I continued my studies in Architecture, which I began in Mexico and finished in Barcelona. The idea of studying Architecture was born many years ago. I started as a volunteer in native communities collaborating with the rehabilitation of villages. Here I began to understand that the main human impact on the environment is the result of land use, which includes many fields, but also acoustics. After working as an Architect, I decided to specialize and study a Master in Acoustics and Vibrations at the University of Valladolid (Spain). Afterwards, I started working in the Applied Acoustics Laboratory in the University of León (Spain), mostly developing noise maps and action plans against noise.
